Trash to Treasure

This project was made possible by the support of 4Culture's Site Specific program.  I collaborated directly with the community of Auburn at the city's Artrageous event on a beautiful Saturday in July.  Over one hundred people helped transform trash from the City Hall staff and offices into works of art.  Each person was invited  to create a small panel.  The individual panels were then assembled into one work of art , made up of two separate panels.  The work was installed in the Auburn City Hall December 2009.

It was truly amazing to see the creativity pour out of so many people.  Many started by stating "I am not creative", but  ended  up creating something inspiring.  Below are some images from the day of the event.

Each framed panel is 38 in. wide and 60 in. tall.
